Jerzy Magiera, M.D.

He has been educating about diabetes for years. In 2001 he founded the first Polish portal about diabetes – mojacukrzyca.org. For more than 20 years now, the portal has been providing the latest information from the world of diabetology, as well as a place of support for many people with diabetes. Jerzy is in charge of editing the portal, finding content and answering questions. He also hosts the online program “Let’s talk about diabetes,” where guests are invited and discussions are held (with audience participation) on diabetes-related topics. He also runs a social media profile called “Mr. Diabetes,” where he shows daily life with diabetes.

George has been suffering from type 1 diabetes since 1996, so already 26 years. He knows the disease well from the inside out and is eager to share his experience with others. He has been awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by the President of Poland for his online activities, as well as the “Pearl of Diabetology” from the Diabetology Education Association. He also received the title of Honorary Member of the Polish Diabetes Association in 2022.
